ARTWORK IN THIS ISSUESeventh-grade art students in art teacher Roni Rohr's class at El Dorado Community School created these ornaments representing a variety of New Mexico scenes for the White House Christmas Tree, through Santa Fe Partners in Education's ArtWorks program. The students used a traditional tin art form known as repujado, the art of punching and etching images into tin. The students were inspired by the natural beauty of New Mexico, including the animals, plants, mountains and culture of the state. Rohr is a nationally board-certified teacher and the recipient of a Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award.
