This year's goal is 175 backpacks for children in grades K through 8, filled with supplies required by the school district according to the student's grade level. Participating families also receive a gift card for clothes to JCPenney, and gift certicicates for shoes and socks at Payless Shoes. Rotary Club of Santa Fe Del Sur is partnering with the clinic again this year to help provide these items and coordinate distribution.
The average cost per student, for the backpack, supplies and gift cards, is $100. If you'd like to make a donation in any amount, please visit the clinic's website, www.vtccsf.org, and indicate on the PayPal form that your donation is for backpacks. Or, mail a check payable to Villa Therese Catholic Clinic, to: Villa Therese Catholic Clinic, 219 Cathedral Place, Santa Fe, NM 87501, and write "Backpacks" in the notation.
Some donors prefer to sponsor a specific student, with a note of encouragement to a child for a successful school year. Sponsorships may remain anonymous. To sponsor a sponsor, email email@example.com or download the sponsorship form and mail it in with your donation.
Volunteers are needed to sort supplies and stuff backpacks, and to distribute the backpacks to the families on Pack-to-School distribution day at the clinic, July 31. If you'd like to volunteer, please email
firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 505-983-8561.
