SFPS PreK services include both half-day and full-day programs, to meet the needs of working parents with young children. Teachers report that students in PreK programs receive a jumpstart on their social, emotional and academic learning that helps children when they reach kindergarten.
PreK programs will be added for the 2018-2019 school year at two new sites: Kaune Elementary/United Way Early Learning Center and Salazar Elementary School. Applications will be received for both of these sites until June 6. However, applying for these sites will forfeit previous applications. The original date-stamped application to the new site will serve as the criteria for rank-ordering and prioritizing applicants.
Schools hosting full day programs now include: Atalaya Elementary, Cesar Chavez Elementary, El Camino Real Academy, Nava Elementary, Nina Otero Community School, Pinon Elementary, Ramirez Thomas Elementary, Tesuque Elementary, E.J. Martinez Elementary, Kaune Elementary, Salazar Elementary. Schools hosting half day programs include: Kearny Elementary, Nye Early Childhood Center, Sweeney Elementary.
