What do YOU love about the Railyard Park? The hummingbirds and buzzing bees? The changing leaves of the giant cottonwood trees? Exploring the boulder wall in the Children’s Play Area? Whatever it is, the Railyard Park Conservancy’s 2018 Youth Photo Contest is for you! The 2018 Contest is now open and accepting submissions through November 1.

The 2018 Photo Contest is open just to kids ages 8 to 18. Photos may be submitted in two categories -- Nature, and People/Events -- and must be taken in the Railyard Park. Whether you have a Digital SLR or you’re shooting on your smart phone, it doesn’t matter! All picture-taking devices are encouraged.

Amazing prize packages, including gift certificates to local restaurants, free movie tickets, a selection of outdoor gear and much more, will be awarded to first, second and third places within two age groups (8 to 12 and 13 to 18.)  A $5 donation with each photo submission supports the nonprofit Railyard Park Conservancy’s mission to keep the park a beautiful community space and continue to offer free programs to the Santa Fe community.

A full list of rules, and the submission form can be found at www.railyardpark.org. Winners will be unveiled at a special awards party in November. Stay tuned!

Rebecca D'Agostine is the marketing assistant for the Railyard Park Conservancy.
